Luxury clothing brand Givenchy has released a capsule collection of phygitals, a combination of physical products accompanied by digital twins. The collection is inspired by six designs that are part of the company. In total, there are 360 Givenchy NFTs based on the six designs, which range from €520 to €4,790.

Individuals based in the company’s largest markets, the US and Europe, have a chance to redeem these NFTs if they buy a physical item. Once you buy, you will receive an email with instructions on how to redeem the NFTs.

Holding the NFTs has its perks. You will gain membership in a program set to launch next year. More details on this are yet to come. Also, there is a possibility the tokens will hold more utility. While the company hasn’t revealed what that utility might be, some speculate access to token-gated drops. Also, receiving invites to digital and physical company events.

How Givenchy NFTs Came About

To bring the NFTs to life, Givenchy had to call upon its creative director, Matthew Williams.

Williams collaborated with Bric Owens and Dieter “Du” Grams of Bstroy, a streetwear brand. And then asked Web3 artist collective Felt Zine Capsule to interpret the Givenchy x Bstroy designs.

The final result seems satisfactory to all parties involved. In a statement, Williams notes that “brick and Du are longtime friends who share my vision of fashion as an inclusive space for experimentation and expressing personal style.”

He goes on to add, “Together, the three of us focused on creating streetwear with unexpected treatments that resonate beyond fashion and enter the realm of contemporary art on the street and in Web3.”

The Bstroy founders also seemed excited to be part of an “experience that goes beyond the collection itself.”

The NFTs debuted on November 18 marking the second time Givenchy has minted non-fungible tokens.
