Louis Vuitton has opened its Discord server, developed to foster a stronger link with digital communities and NFT holders.
The Discord server is essentially a chat room with different themed, interactive, and immersive threads. It will mainly focus on gaming, sports, Web3, technology, virtual reality, and other professions surrounding these topics.
Louis Vuitton’s new Discord server will display LV’s expertise, allowing members to access exclusive content and share views. The thread will invite community members to participate in developing fresh ideas, heavily contributing to the digital experience.
Many have criticized Discord for its aesthetic and user experience, but proponents believe that it is valuable since access to exclusive content and conversations can be token-gated. This means people with certain NFTs can only access them.
Discord also has a current audience of gamers since the platform initially started out as a platform for interaction. Naturally, gamers have been among the first users to participate in the virtual world and have comfortably become the main audience for branded NFTs and virtual goods.
Interactivity among Web3 community members has become the new horizon, where comfort lies in intricately planned and highly polished products and moments. In addition to this, the timing of LV’s arrival on the Discord platform was completely unexpected.
Several early adopters opened their respective Discord servers, including Diesel, Adidas, Prada, and Gucci, but the conversations became restricted to only news events.
However, in June, Via, an ongoing project, was announced to provide exclusive access to digital and physical products or experiences through NFT ownership. The roll-out included influential personalities in Web3 and fashion to allow communication about the project.
Until now, Via’s basic communication channels include a dedicated website, LinkedIn, and Twitter. However, investments by Louis Vuitton in Via and Discord indicate a long-term intention.
