The upcoming Aavegotchi Rarity Farming Season 8 has been announced. It will bring a substantial 150,000 GHST prize pool and several new features designed to enhance the competitive experience. This season introduces double-elimination tournaments, the option to have two substitutes per team and a preparation phase between rounds for strategic adjustments.
Tournament Schedule and Structure
Aavegotchi is a unique Web3 game that blends NFT collectibles, decentralized finance (DeFi), and gaming into an engaging experience. Aavegotchis are pixelated ghost NFTs with unique traits that affect their rarity and in-game abilities.
The tournament schedule for Season 8 includes several important dates. Registration for the 10K GHST Tournament is open from June 17 at 2 PM to June 24 at 2 PM UTC.
Next, registration for the 40K GHST Tournament is open from July 1 at 2 PM to July 8 at 2 PM UTC.
Finally, the 100K GHST Tournament registration will be open from July 8 at 2 PM to July 15 at 2 PM UTC.
Each tournament round will commence 12 hours after the registration period closes, with subsequent rounds starting 12 hours after the previous round concludes. Exact timings will be displayed shortly after registration ends.
Entering the Tournament
Players must visit the Gotchi Battler website to participate, select the tournament they wish to join, and click the “Create Team” button. They will then choose five Gotchis and two optional substitutes to form their team.
Players must designate a team leader and decide on their formation. Once they finalize the team, they can save their configuration and prepare for competition.
For those who lack the necessary Gotchis, the “Gotchi Lending” tab on the tournament page provides a solution. Players can rent eligible Gotchis to bolster their teams.
Gotchi Lending and Renting
Players with unused Gotchis can lend to others through the official Aavegotchi dapp, earning GHST in return.
Ideally, the lending period should be 168 hours (7 days) to cover the registration duration, ensuring that wearables remain unchanged before the tournament starts.
Aavegotvhi advises lenders to set the upfront cost based on their Gotchi’s BRS (Base Rarity Score) and the tournament’s prize pool.
New Features for Season 8
This season features double-elimination tournaments, giving participants two chances to compete before facing elimination. If a team loses a match, it will move to the loser’s bracket, where it will have an opportunity to fight back to the top.
Furthermore, teams can now have two substitutes, enabling players to swap Gotchis in and out between rounds. This flexibility allows for better adaptation to opponents’ strategies and can be pivotal in securing victory.
Between each round, there will be a preparation phase where teams can make strategic adjustments. During this phase, players can swap Gotchis, change their leader, and modify their formation, offering a tactical advantage in the upcoming battle.
