Shytoshi Kusama, pseudonymous developer and leader of the Shiba Inu project, has issued a warning regarding claims of ownership of the billion-dollar SHIB wallets. In a recent X post, he urged the users to verify such assertions before accepting as truth. Kusama suggested a straightforward method for verification: ask the alleged wallet owner to choose a number between 1-100, then publicly show that number and transfer that exact amount of SHIB from the wallet in question. If the owner gives out excuses, they are not the owner of the wallet.

Concerns Revolving Around the SHIB Scam

This caution comes amid ongoing speculation about significant memecoin holdings, particularly concerning Ryoshi. Recent claims state Ryoshi controls wallets containing over $1 billion worth of SHIB, representing around 10% of the total supply. However, these assertions have faced pushback from various community members and marketing figures associated with Shiba Inu, who label them as misinformation.

The controversy has ignited discussions about transparency within the ecosystem. Some community members expressed their concern that such claims could attract unwanted attention from hackers or lead to misinformation spreading further. Kusama’s advice serves as a reminder for the investors to be vigilant and conduct due diligence.

As the project continues to evolve Kusama’s emphasis on verification highlights the importance of accountability and transparency in crypto market. The community remains vigilant as it navigates these complex waters, indicating the need for responsible engagement with digital assets.
