As one of the most celebrated artists of all time, Vincent Van Gogh has certainly made his mark around the world. While getting your hands on an original piece by the artist will set you back millions of dollars, you can get the NFT version for under $1,000.
This is thanks to a new collaboration between the Van Gogh Sites Foundation and Appreciator.io, a web3 NFT platform. With this collaboration, the first-ever NFT collection based on original certified Van Gogh works will be released on the platform.
Van Gogh in the Metaverse
All the works that have been used for the collection were authenticated by the foundation and as such, buyers can rest assured. In total, the collection has 39 NFTs, the first 1-6 issues of which were first released on October 10, 2022. These 6 issues are made up of two categories, Century NFTs and Millenium NFTs.
The Millennium NFTs drop will have 75 assets in total, each costing $9,850. The Century drop will have 150 NFTs and these will sell for $880 apiece. All are to be sold through the Appreciator.io site.
While this represents the rare chance to get your hands on a Van Gogh piece, the collection was also made to raise funds to support local artists and for cultural preservation.
