Animoca Brands has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with LayerZero Labs, the omnichain interoperability protocol behind LayerZero.
The move combines both their efforts toward offering wider solutions for interoperability under one umbrella, supporting users and developers in realizing better experiences on blockchain-based ecosystems.
The partnership includes LayerZero becoming a de facto standard for interoperability within Animoca Brands’ projects and subsidiaries.
Leading Projects Using LayerZero Labs’ OFT Standard
Notable projects already utilizing the LayerZero Labs Omnichain Fungible Token standard include Mocaverse and Open Campus. Enabled by the OFT standard, Fungible tokens can move across multiple chains without asset wrapping, middle chains, or liquidity pools.
Mocaverse is a growth network with an interoperable infrastructure layer, and Open Campus is a decentralized educational protocol.
Open Campus DAO in Action: An ecosystem for community participation and collaboration in rethinking the future of learning. It’s built by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), using the EDU token for governance, incentivization, and access to exclusive features within its ecosystem.
Furthermore, Open Campus partners with learning institutions, organizations, and projects to expand its reach and impact.
Simplifying Digital Ownership and Cross-Chain Interaction with LayerZero
This collaboration goes even further to include the joint organization of community hackathons and educational events around interoperability and LayerZero technologies.
Animoca Brands will, in turn, urge its more than 540 investment portfolio companies to treat LayerZero as their default interoperability solution. It’s a massive industry: there are over 3.4 billion gamers in the world. This collaboration wants to offer a better Web3 gaming experience, fixing shortcomings of the legacy blockchain technologies.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, shared a similar sentiment: “We are excited about this partnership and the opportunity to work closely with LayerZero to advance interoperability across Web3. We envision an omnichain future for digital content and gaming.”
Using LayerZero, the solutions will give easy ways to digital ownership and cross-chain interaction, letting people just game away. In this way, the collaboration is going to bring easier and better ways of incorporation within Web3 for users from across the globe.
Bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero Labs, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are thrilled to partner with Animoca Brands as the preferred interoperability provider of their projects. This collaboration will create seamless omnichain interactions and enhance digital experiences for our communities.
