Bitcoin critic Trump facing indictment after calling for protests

Bitcoin (BTC) antagonist and former US president Donald Trump has recently been trending widely on social network channels, with many calling for his arrest.

The hashtag #arresttrump has been trending vastly on Twitter. The calls for the ex-president’s arrest were triggered by recent information that he allegedly paid porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their affair. During the 2016 campaigns, Trump purportedly illegally obscured the payments.

The billionaire property developer and ex-commander-in-chief noted that his arrest could be coming soon this week. However, Trump had not received any formal notification about charges against him. If this happens, he will be the first-ever US president to face criminal charges.

Due to the rumors arising, the ex-president allegedly noted that his arrest might cause protests from his supporters. Reports suggest that the ex-president tried to intimidate prosecutors while mobilizing his fandom to rally behind him.

The ex-president allegedly incited violence with a harsh tone, “Protest, take our nation back.” Reports suggest that in 2021, Trump showed he could incite violence to get what he wanted.

Trump’s negative stance on crypto

Ex-president Trump has used his social channels to express his feelings about different subjects, including the crypto space. Donald remained quiet about crypto during his presidency, only sending a single tweet in his four-year reign.

The ex-president’s 2019 deleted tweet says:

“I am not a fan of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air.”

Trump also noted in the same tweet that unregulated virtual assets could facilitate unlawful behavior, including illegal activity and drug trade.

Later, in 2021, when talking to Stuart Vaney on Fox Business noted that BTC seemed like a scam. He highlighted that the coin competes against the dollar, yet his mission was for the USD to be the global currency.

Despite the negative stand of the former president, the former first lady holds an entirely different opinion. Melania Trump launched his first NFT in 2021.

Donald Trump recently launched an NFT collection called Trump Digital Trading Cards (TRUMP). Accusations surfaced that the ex-president used copyrighted images in his collection.
