Despite all the talk of a crypto winter, the NFT market continues to grow from strength to strength, with new projects being announced every other day. Top NFT collections especially have been seeing healthy sales despite the apparent winter.
Case in point, the Bored Ape Yacht Club has seen the successful sale of its asset #5383. Officially sold on August 17, 2022, the NFT came at a cost of 777 ETH. When converted, this brings the value of the sale to roughly $1.5 million.
While the actual identity of the buyer of Bored Ape #5383 is unknown, they go by the pseudonym ‘Vis.ETH’. The NFT that was purchased features an ape with gold fur in a lumberjack shirt and, in a statement to Investing.com, Vis.ETH said that they particularly wanted the monkey for its gold fur.
Besides NFTs, Vis.ETH has also bought several thousand ETH worth of virtual land in Otherside, the metaverse created by Yuga Labs, the Bored Ape Club’s parent company. Predicting that it will be “the first successful social verse”, this collector is deeply invested in the wider ecosystem that Yuga Labs is creating.
With this purchase, they now join the likes of Madonna, Justin Bieber and Post Malone who have gotten their hands on Bored Ape NFTs.
