Chainlink is hosting a Web3 hackathon. The event begins on November 8, 2023, and concludes on December 10, 2023. It further builds on the first edition’s success, with over a thousand registrations and more than 70 submissions.
The latest addition to the event series is teased to be an even bigger and better event. A total of $350k has been set aside for rewards, depending on the category of participation. The grand prize is $25,000; other categories cover prizes as follows:
- DeFi and payments – $22,500
- Cross-Chain solutions – $22,500
- Web3 gaming & Dynamic NFT – $15,000
- SocialFi innovation – $15,000
- Web3 & Artificial Intelligence – $15,000
- Tech for Good – $15,000
Projects will additionally earn $500 each, restricted to the top 20 projects, for outstanding implementations. Hackers must deploy at least a single Chainlink service depicting a change to the blockchain to qualify for the reward. Chainlink Data Feeds alone will not help participants.
Entries will be judged on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, user experience, practicality, technical implementation, and creativity. Projects must attempt to push the boundaries with Wev3 technology. There is simply no restriction on what participants can create. Teams have even been credited with building a fully functional MVP – Minimum Viable Product.
Projects can range from DeFi to NFT, gaming, AI, and cross-chain, among others. It is important to note that other Web3 hackathons are happening at the same time, which hackers can explore. This includes Build-A-Bull, BlockHack 2023, and the Bitcoin Unleashed Hackathon.
Chainlink has hinted at the way in which participants can earn extra points. All they have to do is leverage more than a single service. For instance, multiple services could earn them two or more points extra.
Constellation is not only coming to test the implementations by participants. Hackers, irrespective of their backgrounds, can access a variety of educational materials and real-time support. Offerings include beginner, intermediate, and expert. All of it is available for free; however, participants are recommended to choose the material that best suits their requirements.
Developers will have access to tools like scalable blockchains, cross-chain interoperability, and API connectivity.
The announcement comes days after Chinlink shared the results for ETHGlobal Paris. It received over 960 participants and more than 321 project submissions. Most of the projects were built using Chainlink Oracle services like CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol). Seven projects had won, and the total prize was $10,000, distributed as follows:-
- $2,000 to every three standout team
- $1,000 to every four teams who best utilized the services of Chainlink
Moving forward, Chainlink is gearing up to host Constellation, which begins on November 8, 2023, and concludes on December 10, 2023. A total of $350k in rewards has been announced, with $25,000 as the grand prize.
