An NFT influencer who goes by the pseudonym Cozomo de’ Medici has donated 22 Web3 artworks to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The influencer made the announcement on February 14 via his official Twitter account. The artwork features creations by 13 digital artists, including Dmitri Cherniak, a generative artist, and NFT pioneers, Larva Labs.
In a Twitter thread, de’ Medici notes that he hopes the donation will highlight the importance of digital art pieces, which will now get the chance to sit next to legendary works by renown artists such as Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Georgia O’Keefe. In a press release, the influencer, whom many suspect to be Snoop Dogg, a longtime Web3 and NFT aficionado, notes:
“With this gift, my goal was to help bridge the worlds of on-chain art and contemporary art, which until now have separately existed. I’m thrilled to have these historically significant on-chain works contextualized beside many iconic works of art in LACMA’s collection.”

The donation, which features a valuable CryptoPunks NFT, has been met with enthusiasm from LACMA. Michael Govan, the CEO of the museum, notes that this donation allows them to showcase the intersection of art and technology.
“We’re grateful to Cozomo de’ Medici for his forward-thinking generosity that will expand the diversity of our art collection and propel us to develop new standards and techniques for preserving works created on the blockchain.”
Cozomo de’ Medici Donation Follows A Growning Trend Of NFTs Being Displayed In Art Museums
The donation by the NFT influencer to the museum is the latest in a growing trend of digital artworks being exhibited in physical art installations. Last week, Centre Pompidou was the beneficiary of two valuable donations.
