Rumours suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) may feature integration with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tether (USDT), sparking excitement among both gaming fans and the digital asset community.

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is the eagerly awaited next instalment in the renowned GTA series by Rockstar Games. This project has generated tremendous excitement among people of all ages worldwide, who are eagerly anticipating its release. The game’s blend of action, storytelling, and open-world exploration has captivated a global audience, making its upcoming release a highly discussed topic among fans and gaming communities.

Rumours that started in 2021 have resurfaced again due to a tweet from a pseudonymous Crypto X (formerly Twitter) user named Gordon, causing a buzz on social media.

He said that cryptocurrency payments integration in GTA-6 is now confirmed.

Also, he claimed that Rockstar Games, known for developing the game, will add support for Bitcoin, Ethereum, & USDT stablecoin only.

A community note countered this tweet, asserting that the shared information was partially a rumour, and Rockstar Games has yet to clarify any decision regarding integrating cryptocurrency payments.

It is worth it to note that this rumour has been ongoing since June 2021, sparked by Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming, suggesting that GTA 6 might integrate cryptocurrency. Henderson speculated that Bitcoin could replace cash rewards for completing quests, and players might trade digital assets in a revived in-game stock market feature. Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed anything yet, keeping the rumour mill active with occasional leaks and tweets.

In 2022, a report from Forbes India claimed that Rockstar was developing GTA 6 on  blockchain technology, potentially allowing players to use cryptocurrency for payments.
