ENS and GoDaddy Bring Blockchain Domains to 20M+ Users

0

The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) has joined forces with GoDaddy — one of the world’s largest domain registrars — to merge traditional domains with the emerging blockchain world.

No additional costs will be required for users to enjoy such benefits, making the advantages of decentralized domain names seamlessly available to over 20 million GoDaddy users without any barriers.

Bridging Web2 and Web3 Internet

ENS simplifies the use of intricate Ethereum addresses by associating them with easy-to-understand names, such as “bob.eth”. The function replicates the DNS operation commonly used to create URLs for traditional web domains.

GoDaddy has voiced its enthusiasm for this joint venture, stating that it will allow users to link their domains to their ENS-supported cryptocurrency wallets effortlessly. GoDaddy succinctly said, “Crypto payments have never been simpler to accept”.

Through the introduction of new smart contracts for free DNS to ENS domain connections, this collaboration is anticipated to tackle enduring issues such as high gas fees, subsequently enabling a smoother transition.

In its continuous commitment to integration with the traditional internet, ENS is also launching support for the latest domains like (.box) that function in a similar way to conventional web domains.

As GoDaddy and ENS domains bridge traditional and blockchain internet, streamlining digital identities and transactions for a seamless web experience has never been easier.
