Superheroes have been dominating our big screens for years now and they now have their sights set on the metaverse. While we’ve seen NFTs launched for well-known superheroes like Batman and Spiderman, more opportunities are being opened to the lesser-known ones.
Slamming into Web3
Slam-Girl, a somewhat underrated hero from the legendary Stan Lee’s catalogue is making her NFT debut. This is thanks to OneOf, a top web3 company, which is bringing the character to life with the assistance of the online marketplace eBay.
“Introducing the long & anticipated—SLAM-GIRL! The first internet-based anti-super heroine created by TheRealStanLee x WillMeugniot, discovered 20 years later by ShirrelRhoades. We are excited to bring SLAM-GIRL into the Web3 World!” OneOf said on its official Twitter handle, which was accompanied by a video of the superhero and clips of the late Stan Lee discussing the character.

Slam-Girl, which was created by Stan Lee and Will Meugniot, will be turned into an NFT based on the Polygon blockchain. The partnership between OneOf and eBay means that buyers will have easy access to the assets and can buy them using a platform they are already used to, says eBay’s VP of collectibles, home, and electronics, Dawn Block.
