  • Xandeum to introduce scalable storage technology and XAND token at Breakpoint 2024, enhancing Solana’s blockchain capabilities.
  • “Xandeum Buckets” will integrate with Solana RPC nodes, connecting to a network of storage provider nodes.

On September 19, 2024, in Las Vegas, Xandeum announced a strategic enhancement to Solana’s blockchain during the upcoming Breakpoint 2024 conference in Singapore on September 20. This enhancement involves a new scalable storage technology and the introduction of the XAND token, along with a novel liquid staking model.

Xandeum is set to implement a storage solution designed to significantly expand the storage capacity for decentralized applications on the Solana network. This solution will support a broader array of applications, facilitating complex operations that require extensive data management capabilities.

Xandeum Buckets for Storage Efficiency

The plan includes launching “Xandeum Buckets,” which are part of a vast file system integrated with Solana’s RPC nodes. This setup will connect with a widespread network of storage provider nodes (pNodes) managed by Xandeum-empowered Solana validators. This structure is projected to decrease the costs of operations while enhancing processing speed and scalability through effective storage distribution.

The implementation of this technology is expected to lower operational expenses and create new financial opportunities for those involved in maintaining and operating Solana’s infrastructure. It aims to provide a more cost-effective solution for handling expansive data, benefiting validators and stakers with additional revenue opportunities through an improved fee structure.

Announcements and Launch Dates

Detailed information about this new storage capability and the liquid staking platform will be unveiled at the Breakpoint 2024 event. The platform, expected to be operational by October 29, will allow stakeholders to benefit financially from the collected storage fees. Furthermore, Xandeum will disclose details regarding the XAND token and the specifics of an upcoming airdrop scheduled for October 8.

“A low-cost, decentralized storage solution will drastically expand the application landscape.” says Tommy Johnson, early Solana builder, co-founder, and lead engineer at Armada. “It can unlock a new revenue stream for SOL validators and stakers. The Xandeum solution will have an enormous impact on the growth of the Solana ecosystem.”

Xandeum’s initiative is a targeted effort to enhance the data handling capacities of the Solana blockchain, supporting a wider deployment of advanced applications and fostering growth within the blockchain sector.
