Lufthansa Takes to the Skies with New Uptrip NFT Loyalty Scheme

0

Globe spanning aeronautical firm specialising in cheap flights and waylaid luggage, Lufthansa, has announced an exciting new NFT loyalty scheme operating on the Polygon network. Through the new ‘Uptrip’ program, travelers can earn additional rewards by collecting sets of NFT trading cards.

In order to bring a little more excitement to its loyal customers, Lufthansa will turn to the trusty NFT to bolster its rewards program. As a result, all of the major airlines operating under the Lufthansa umbrella will begin distributing NFT cards to its passengers. Flyers can then collect sets of those NFTs and exchanges them for exclusive perks that range from free in-flight WI-FI to airport lounge access and bonus airmiles.

To participate, frequent flyers can download the Uptrip application for both Android and iOS mobile devices. This will then allow them to scan or upload their boarding pass, which in turn will allow them to select 2 NFTs for their collection. Once holders have enough NFTs in their wallets to complete one of 10 collections, they can redeem them for the associated reward.

Lufthansa Aims to Engage with Flyers on a Whole New Level

The NFTs in Lufthansa’s all new Polygon powered loyalty scheme will come in the shape of collectible cards adorned with popular destinations, aircraft, holiday themes and more. While, some more unusual routes, such as flying over the North Pole, or hitting the skies on Christmas will result in rarer ‘special’ cards. Furthermore, as an added bonus, Lufthansa will dish out the first NFT for free when signing up to the Uptrip APP!

So, as gleeful holidaymakers and grumpy businesspeople jet off around the world, they have another chance to upgrade their experience in Lufthansa’s new NFT powered loyalty program!
