Shiba Inu’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama arrived in Mumbai, India last week and was spotted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport. Shytoshi and another team member were seen being masked and clad in black and white attire with a distinctive hood. The identity of the two was never revealed by authorities leading to intense gazes by travelers at the airport.

Videos circulated online show Shytoshi and his team members slowly walking outside the Mumbai airport on July 10, 2024. The first few seconds of the video show airport security accompanying Shytoshi and his team members. As the video continues, private security guards are seen accompanying the two while stopping people from coming closer.

The video also shows the paparazzi recording Shytoshi Kusama outside the arrival section at the Mumbai airport. In addition, common people are also seen video-recoding the two and also clicking pictures of their masked walk. India has a huge market for Shiba Inu and investors have been buying the token since 2021 after WazirX listed it on its platform.

The exact reason for Shytoshi Kusama’s India visit remains to be a mystery. The lead developer of Shiba Inu did not specify the reason for his Mumbai visit. He was in Japan last month and tweeted that his next stop is Mumbai, India. Reports state that he might be in India to attend a cryptocurrency and Web3 startup event. Nonetheless, the exact reason for his visit remains unclear as there are no official details about his visit.

Many others thought that he visited India to attend the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding. However, none of these are confirmed reports as no other clips from the wedding surfaced showcasing masked men with hoods. The whereabouts of the Shiba Inu lead developer in Mumbai also remain to be a mystery.
