Ripple and SEC’s Lead Attorneys Set to Discuss Crypto Regulation Today

Andre Ceresney, who is Ripple’s lead attorney, is going to have an important conversation with his SEC counterpart Jorge Tenreiro later today. The conversation is part of the Hilibrand Series Panel and is called ‘Government Enforcement in the Cryptocurrency Arena: Where Do Things Stand?’ It is going to focus on the current state of crypto regulations in the United States.

Other people that will be included in the discussion are Claudia Quiroz from the U.S. Department of Justice and David Zornow, a visiting lecturer with expertise in American law. Together, they want to figure out how to deal with the complicated ways that the government polices the crypto business.

The legal battle between Ripple Labs and the SEC has been a hot topic for years. Recently, lawyer Bill Morgan was saying that the Coinbase case won’t have a direct effect on Ripple’s situation because it was about a different aspect of selling cryptocurrencies. Furthermore, Morgan pointed out that the SEC seems to have recognized that XRP is not a security. This has been a turning point for cryptocurrency regulation in the United States.

Meanwhile, the entire crypto market seems to be at the verge of an outstanding bull run at the moment, and XRP has not been left behind. As Bitcoin and Ethereum are reaching record heights, XRP has also seen an increase of 12% in the past twenty-four hours.

At press time, it was worth $0.701 and is doing a little weaker on the weekly chart. Technical indicators and histograms are telling us that XRP’s current growth momentum would likely continue. Moreover, there is a lot of buying pressure, which also makes it highly possible for XRP to break through the $0.8 mark. Or perhaps even better, the coin could hit $1 before we know it.
