If you’re a fan of cruises then you’ve definitely heard of the Royal Caribbean company, which represents one of the biggest cruise ship operators in the world. While it has sailed all over the physical world, it has finally embarked on a voyage into the Metaverse.
As per reports, the company has confirmed its own NFT powered virtual experience called the ‘Wonderverse’.
Take a Dive into the Wonderverse
From all indications, the Wonderverse will offer Royal Caribbean customers as much of a treat in the virtual world as in the physical. It features a Metaverse version of the company’s ships that users can explore using their avatars.
While on the ships, customers can navigate four different areas and also participate in mini-competitions and activities. This will mirror the experiences that they would have on real-life cruise ships and this can now be enjoyed virtually.
In addition, the Royal Caribbean company will also use this as an avenue to pass information to customers. Essentially, incorporating an in-Metaverse billboard that displays information about upcoming voyages that they can sign up for. Needless to say, this is one of the most ambitious uses of the Metaverse by a hospitality and tourism company seen so far.
“We’ve revolutionized cruise ship design and now we’re revolutionizing where cruise ships are experienced,” said Michael Scheiner, who is the Chief Marketing Officer of Celebrity Cruises’, a brand operated by the Royal Caribbean.
This comes months after the company launched a successful NFT drop.
