It appears France is at the head of the NFT revolution. With one of the biggest NFT brands, Sorare, headquartered in Paris, the global centre for arts is now set to host an NFT art exhibition.
The renowned contemporary art museum, The Centre Pompidou, is to put on a show for NFTs with its latest permanent exhibit. This summer, the museum will showcase a collection of one-of-a-kind digital tokens created by 13 talented artists from across the globe.
The NFTs include the highly sought-after CryptoPunk #110 and Autoglyph #25. Moreover, the collection will serve as a testament to the artistry and innovation within the world of blockchain and digital creation.
In a tweet, the museum stated that it is acquiring a set of works that explore the relationship between blockchain and artistic expression, including its first NFTs. The exhibit will feature 18 projects by 13 French and international artists.
Xavier Rey, the director of the French National Museum of Modern Art, reinforced the museum’s commitment to digital art and blockchain technology, calling web3 an “innovative territory” for artists to explore new means of expression.
Yuga Labs Donations
Yuga Labs, the company behind popular NFT projects like Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks, has also contributed to the growing recognition of NFTs in the art world. They donated CryptoPunk #305 to the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami during the Art Basel 2022 exhibition.
Yuga Labs stated its intention to donate more Punks to leading art institutions worldwide in the future, and with this latest exhibition in the centre of arts is key for both Yuga Labs and the exhibition.
Co-founder of Yuga Labs, Greg Solano, sees this as a significant moment for the NFT and web3 ecosystem, as it will pave the way for a wider understanding and appreciation of digital art and its impact on modern society.
Paris Leading the NFT Revolution
Paris has long been known as the centre for global art, and this exhibition will help propel NFTs to the wider general public. But it’s not just art where France is leading the NFT revolution.
One of the biggest NFT brands, Sorare, is based out of France and they’re leading the way in sport and betting NFT cards.
The company has signed with all the top US sport brands including NBA, MLB and MLS. In addition to that, they have also signed deals with all the top European football leagues to represent them in the NFT space.
