Music fans could see many projects from their favorite artists in NFT form. Thanks to a new deal from Warner Chappell Music, the publishing arm of Warner Music, it has signed a new agreement with Defient, a web3 entertainment company.

Bringing Music to the Metaverse

This partnership will be hitting the ground running with the launch of Archives, a blockchain-powered digital museum. This museum will spotlight both music and art and will do so by releasing a curated collection of digital collectables and hosting events.

These collectables and events will center around the artists signed to Warner Music’s roster. Given that the record label is home to some of the most prominent artists in the world, like Ed Sheeran and Madonna, we could see some impressive projects come out of this.

The museum is due to be launched in early 2023, and the first digital assets to be attached to it is called Archives Mint Pass, a 2000-piece collection that grants users access to future drops from the Archive.

But the company says the benefits to be had are not only for music fans but for the creators too.

“By embracing the power of blockchain technology, we can create impactful new revenue streams and creative opportunities for our songwriters while giving music fans access to unique experiences,” says WCM Senior Vice President of Creative Services.” Ashley Winton – Senior Vice President of Creative Services
