What Happened to Dogecoin Payments on X Money?
In March of this year, X owner Elon Musk announced that the platform’s X Money payment feature would enter “early public access” phase in April 2026. On June 4, the world’s richest person announced that the feature will be available to a wider audience. However, one question that continues to nag crypto users is “when will X Money launch Dogecoin (DOGE) payments?” Let’s discuss.
Will Dogecoin Payments Come To X Money?
On April 14, X’s head of product, Nikita Bier took to X and stated that the cryptocurrency sector was having a bad year and that the team “should launch something to fix it.” Many anticipated X Money to roll out crypto payments. Dogecoin (DOGE) fans, in particular, were expecting the popular memecoin to make an appearance on the social media platform given Musk’s appreciation for the project.
However, it’s been more than a month and we still do not have any cryptocurrency-related services on X, let alone Dogecoin (DOGE). While it is still unclear whether Musk will enable cryptocurrency payments on X, many believe he may at least incorporate Dogecoin (DOGE) into the platform. Fans point to Musk’s previous DOGE-related decisions behind their argument. The tech billionaire has enabled DOGE payments for Tesla and SpaceX merchandise. Many expect a similar move for X.

While there is a high chance that X may incorporate Dogecoin (DOGE) payments, it should be noted that the memecoin is among the most volatile assets in the financial market. DOGE has seen substantial growth since its launch in 2013, but has seen violent price swings along the way. Although Musk is a big fan of the project, using DOGE for payments may not be very viable as its value often plummets depending on online hype.
Dogecoin (DOGE) fans are eagerly waiting for a confirmation from X Money, and we may know more in the coming weeks.
